For tables of that scale, partition by invoice timestamp. This isolates older transactions onto cold disks while keeping the active month hot. Add this query partition configuration:

CREATE TABLE invoices (
    invoice_id UUID NOT NULL,
    invoice_date DATE NOT NULL,
    amount NUMERIC
) PARTITION BY RANGE (invoice_date);
